It\'s time to work on those golden tans. Go, Leave now!
It\'s time to work on those golden tans. Go, Leave now!

Phoenix, AZ, July 12, 2012 — As a kid I remember how excited I was to go to the beach. It was exhilarating to run around like a lunatic from the water to the sand, causing chaos the whole time. Before my parents let me wander, I only got one word of advice, “Make sure to wear your sunscreen.” Being the great listener that I was I inevitably ended up bright red and hating life the next day. Now that I am grown up and too lazy to go to the beach and sit out in the sun all day I must combat my paleness with a tanning lotion.

Summer time is officially here and it is time to hit the beach. Many people go to the beach to get a tan and enjoy the water. If you are interested in tanning but not sure where to start, here is a list of ingredients that can help you understand tanning lotions a little better.

Aloe Vera: You have probably already know what Aloe Vera is but just in case. Aloe Vera is often thought to help with sun burns. When applied to skin it offers a cooling effect that helps sooth the skin and allows it to recover from a burn faster.

Benzyl Nicotinate: This product is often times found in

tingle’ tanning products. This ingredient helps warm up the skin and flush the skin. The reason why tanning lotions have this product is because it helps to give an immediate tanning result. This is good for those starting out with tanning.

Caffeine: No we do not recommend that you eat sun lotion, but caffeine is often added to tanning products because it helps tone up skin and make it appear tighter.

Canola Oil: Is used to help combat irritation that may occur while tanning.

L-Tyrosine: using this amino acid has been shown to help prolong the tan that you get so you don’t have to spend as much time in the sun to keep that golden glow. Tyrosine activates the second layer of skin which helps improve the effects of tanning.

Rosemary Oil: This oil is often used with older skin that has aged. Rosemary oil is used with tanning because it helps with slowing down the aging process that happens when your skin has been in the sun too often.

Vitamin A: this vitamin when applied to the skin can help fight free radicals.. The main reason why Vitamin A is added to Tanning lotions is to help keep the skin looking young and healthy.

This is only a little of what you will find on the back of tanning lotion bottles, but having this little bit of knowledge can help you have a better understanding of tanning and improve your skin health. Enjoy your summer!
