Today another report came out which focuses on the rapid growth of wireless data. This was from Arieso and focused on how different smart phones rank in wireless data usage.

Wireless data usage is exploding.

Over the next few years wireless data will account for 97% of usage and voice will only account for 3%. That is incredible. A complete reversal of where we were just a few short years ago.

It all started with the new smart phones like Apple iPhone, Google Android and the growing number of others from Samsung, HTC, Motorola and many others.

This highlights a serious and rapidly growing problem we face. We are running out of capacity.

We have to find a solution to this serious problem. Otherwise we will be very unhappy with the quality. Without a solution every carrier may have the same problems AT&T Mobility has faced over the last several years with the iPhone.

The entire wireless industry is flip-flopping. Until about four years ago most usage was voice, but is now wireless data.

While this is an incredible stat to marvel over, we must take this threat seriously otherwise we will all be throttled back rather than having unlimited usage.
