At the age of 69, the inventor (Solomon Jacob) experienced a cardiac arrest and was revived after receiving VF and DC shock. Shortly thereafter, Solomon was diagnosed with a chronic inflammatory condition of the lungs, with a constant cough and breathing difficulties, possibly COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
