Mercedes' hat trick came as a huge surprise to many in the industry, but it is a reflection of how well this car manufacturer is regarded by consumers. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reported that exports of luxury cars from the UK had soared over the past five years. Sales to Asia alone have trebled in just five year.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) expect to see strong sales for new cars in the UK. If the figures that are due to be released on the 5th of March 2015 do show the expected growth this will be the 36th consecutive month of growth for the UK auto trade.
