As part of its economic and social priorities, Bihar State Government has developed its environmental policy initiatives to ensure environmental conservation. In 1974, the Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB) was established as a regulatory body to carry out similar tasks. The BSPCB aims at ensuring sustainable development with social and intergenerational equity, enhancing environmental performance, and improving the quality of life of its citizens.
