Nab Cottage - English language in the Lakes

Nab Cottage began as a family, a language school, and an international community in 1983. At the school, students and teachers live together and study together, so there is continuous interaction in English. It is in the centre of the Lake District National Park, an area of outstanding beauty and tranquillity, which is currently being considered for World Heritage status. The school overlooks a small lake and is surrounded by mountains. Regarding accommodation, students live at Nab Cottage, sharing the space and the facilities. The bedrooms are all cosy with beautiful views, and most have their own shower and toilet. Downstairs there is a sitting room with log fire, a TV room, a piano room, dining rooms, and a large farmhouse kitchen. The gardens around the cottage and barn are used for lessons when the weather is fine. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and teas/coffees are included in the price. The four colourful and comfortable classrooms are all in the beautifully converted barn right next to Nab Cottage. Facilities include computer, WIFI, listening and reading library. Nab Cottage takes a maximum of 20 students in the school at any time. Classes are very small. Students are all adults and come from all over the world. Teachers apply a holistic model of learning, encouraging students to behave, think, dream and relax in English.
