LogoThe When In Need Foundation hosted their "Soles for Education" Inaugural Fundraiser and Luncheon in New York City on May 16, where funds were collected to provide the students at the Samuel Njemaze Primary School in Owerri, Nigeria, with new shoes. At the event, numerous honorees were recognized with Awards of Excellence. Among them were NBC News Anchor Sheinelle Jones of "Weekend Today," Senator James Sanders Jr. of the 10th Senatorial District in Queens, NY, and Rosa Marte, the President of the Corona Lions Club in Queens, NY.
