Third of UK Workers Fear Health Risks at Work: The Accident Team Comments

A third of UK workers are worried about illnesses they may suffer as a result of their work, according to a Labour Force survey by HSE. 1,755 people were involved in the study, which incorporated a variety of ages and genders. A significant majority expressed that they were worried about health issues such as back and neck injury caused by prolonged periods of time at a desk.

Recent Statistics Reveal That Around 629,000 Workers Were Reported as Being Involved in an Accident at Work in 2013-2014; the Accident Team Comments

Statistics released by The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) showed that of 629,000 accident cases, 203,000 led to people needing at least 3 days' off work and 148,000 led to over 7 days absence from work.

Entering 2015, it has been reported that there has been up to a four per cent increase in fatalities and serious injuries on the UK roads. A recent survey of 29 top motor insurers has revealed that when dealing with claims, especially regarding traffic accidents, they will now accept dashcam footage as supporting evidence. A dashcam is a camera that can be installed on the dashboard of the car and films the driver's view. It is a tool that can provide security for many drivers, as it can film car journeys, not only for reference, but also as evidence regarding the circumstances of accidents.

According to recent figures released by the Drive and Survive Division of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, 86% of fleets (business cars, hire cars, company cars etc.) have experienced an accident in the last 12 months.
