The names of these films stand out quickly in one's mind – 'The Grapes of Wrath' starring Henry Fonda, 'Gone With The Wind' starring Clark Gable and Viviene Leigh, 'The Wizard of Oz' starring Judy Garland, 'Field of Dreams' starring Kevin Costner and the next film making it's mark using the family farm is 'The Great Fear', written and directed by Canadian Iain Laird.

In today's world, the underhanded destruction of the biosphere by corporations like Monsanto and W.R. Grace Co. is well-known and well-documented. In The Great Fear, a Montana cattle rancher named Victor is forced to forfeit his cattle shortly after a questionable inspection by Vassal, a multi-national agricultural conglomeration. His family ranch in jeopardy, no workers remaining, he turns to renting out homes on his property to make some money and his first new tenant turns out to be a botanist named Meryl. When people in the town suddenly begin taking ill with flu-like symptoms, Meryl and Victor forge an unlikely partnership to fight the shadow hanging over everyone in the community by a bio-tech corporation known as VASSAL.

The film is currently in production on location in Southern Alberta, Canada. Additionally, the film finds itself in need of funding for completion. The final scenes require set construction and studio special effects and for finishing the Post Production sound mix and Musical Score.
