Announcing Optical Effects Vision Center's Presbyopia Workshop

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/22/2017 -- As an integral part of their cutting-edge eye care services, Optical Effects Vision Center is hosting a Presbyopia Workshop on April 27, to demonstrate the benefits of multifocal contact lenses. Dr. Robert Wlodek, O.D., has fitted many patients with multifocal contacts in the Silverado Ranch optometry practice. Organized as the first of many workshops, Dr. Wlodek planned this informative event as a way for patients to experience the latest contact lens technology.

Optical Effects Vision Center was founded in 2003 to serve patients in South Las Vegas, Enterprise, Henderson and Seven Hills. The optometry clinic boasts an impressive open-concept plan, equipped with the latest refractive technology and a contact lens dispensing area stocked with hundreds of trial lenses. Dr. Wlodek and the entire team specialize in providing personalized vision solutions for each individual. Patient education, such as the upcoming Presbyopia Workshop, plays a leading role in their eye care services.

"Presbyopia is a normal process that occurs in our mid-40s, where the eyes lose the ability to focus on reading up-close. Generally treated with glasses and contact lenses, presbyopia isn't fun, but it's normal!" says Dr. Wlodek.

Multifocal contact lenses are visual devices designed with two prescriptions in each lens. The center of the lens typically has the patient's reading prescription, and concentric rings hold the vision prescription for intermediate and distance vision. In effect, these customized contact lenses limit the need for wearing reading glasses.

The interactive Presbyopia Workshop will kick off with an introduction to the pros & cons of multifocal contact lenses. An eye care specialist will explain the various scheduling options for wearing these contacts, from daily to monthly. Following this, a complimentary lesson on proper insertion and removal, which normally costs $80, will be given. Two contact lens representatives will be present, and any patient who already wears contact lenses can leave with a new trial pair of premium multifocal contacts for presbyopia. Light refreshments will be served.

Interested participants in the workshop must reserve a spot in advance as early as possible. This also ensures that the correct pair of trial contact lenses will be available. An up-to-date vision prescription is required for participation. Dr. Wlodek will not perform contact lens fittings at the workshop, and anyone who does not have a current prescription should contact the office to schedule a fitting before this unique presentation.

After the Presbyopia Workshop, all participants will be able to reserve a follow-up session and complete contact lens eye exam at Optical Effects Vision Center at a special reduced cost of $75 – instead of the standard $125 fee. Dr. Wlodek has been practicing optometry for 23 years in Las Vegas, and he offers a full range of services for vision and eye health. Optical Effects Vision Center is located conveniently in the commercial center at the corner of Maryland Parkway and Silverado Ranch Blvd.
