Increasing the vehicle production to promote the growth of the Automotive Body Electronics Market

Increase in demand for vehicle comfort and increasing production drives the growth of the automotive body electronics market. In addition, government laws regarding pollution and demand for ADAS equipped vehicles are fuelling the growth of the automotive body electronics market. Now a day’s functional safety design support increasingly expected as the OEM’s are looking to optimize seat position, close windows and roof systems based upon input from vehicle sensors. Furthermore, reduction in the fuel consumption and emissions is increasing rapidly with the introduction of the start-stop system in the vehicle that automatically shuts down and restarts the IC engine reduces the fuel consumption. However, malfunctioning of the system and high cost of the components of body electronics are likely to hamper the growth of the automotive body market. Furthermore, the introduction of the new inbuilt technologies in the car features are anticipated to create several growth opportunities for the key players in the automotive body electronics market. On the other hand, Leveraging their technological advantages, many information technology companies have crossed over into the auto industry to promote the informatization and intelligent development of vehicles.

NXP Acquired Automotive Ethernet Company

In September 2018-Semiconductor giant prepares to meet high-speed networking needs of autonomous vehicles. NXP Semiconductors N.V. has announced its acquisition of OmniPHY Inc., a maker of automotive Ethernet technology will bring high-speed vehicle networking into NXP’s technology portfolio mainly as a way of accommodating the influx of new automotive sensors, such as cameras, radar, and Lidar.

In NXP’s view, Ethernet would ultimately serve as a high-speed network backbone, connecting different domains, such as ADAS, infotainment, and telematics. It would also connect through a gateway to other domains, such as powertrain and body electronics, which would continue to be served by CAN and LIN buses.

Volkswagen accelerates e-mobility for the masses

In October 2018- Volkswagen has already presented four ID. Models as prototypes. The development of vehicle technology is virtually complete, as are the designs of the various models. Contracts with the battery suppliers have been signed. In addition, Volkswagen is investing more than one billion euros to prepare its plant in Zwickau for the production of MEB vehicles. The company is also committing itself to develop a comprehensive charging infrastructure. In short: Volkswagen’s e-mobility offensive is taking shape on all fronts.

Volkswagen is now applying this same platform strategy for the era of electric vehicles. The MEB is not just the technical matrix for all models in the Volkswagen ID. family, but for many electric cars produced by other Group brands, including Audi, SEAT, Škoda and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
