Bali Boutique Launches Pacific Island Culture and the Lucky Buddha to the United States and Beyond

Bringing the Lucky Buddha Home

Paradise, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/16/2015 -- Michelle Johnson visited Bali years ago and was so entranced by the native craftsmen and the exquisite carvings, like the lucky Buddha, she decided to create a shop for their work.

"The talent, it's just amazing. They can take an ordinary piece of wood and turn it into the most beautiful art," she said. "They imbue each piece with the island culture they were born into. It's just stunning."

The lucky Buddha statues are supposed to bring wealth, good luck and prosperity to any home where they are found. Rubbing the belly triggers the blessings,

"People around the world believe in this, so they have the lucky Buddha statues. Some people just like the little round man with the big belly. They think it's cute. Regardless, the craftsmanship that goes into these pieces is remarkable. The Buddhas are true works of art," Ms. Johnson said.

The Bali Boutique offers an outlet for these skilled men and women they might otherwise never had. Ms. Johnson said she's bringing the world to the door of this island nation so everyone can appreciate their work.

"These people are so gifted. They can take ordinary things and transform them into the kind of artwork that belongs in museums," she said.

"Every time I go, I am just beyond amazed at what they are creating. I'm only able to bring back a small sampling of their work," she said. "The lucky Buddha statues are such a popular item that I have to bring those back."
