CA Modern Home Covers the Paris Eames Wire Chair Event

CA Modern Home, a leading purveyor of fine modern design furniture, recently highlighted a fundraiser held in Paris, France honoring the legacy of the Wire Chair introduced in 1951 by designers Charles & Ray Eames.

Miami Beach, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/15/2016 -- The fundraiser was intended to support the La Source association which focuses on helping children to express themselves by using art and its various mediums. The Wire Chair was uniquely reimagined by over fifty artists that each put a creative spin on the chair, all of which were donated by Switzerland-based furniture manufacturer Vitra.

One of the timeliest interpretations was by Moroccan fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac who used the Wire Chair as a means of paying tribute to victims of the November 2015 Paris attacks. Famous French designer Chris Louboutin also contributed a chair, adding his signature red sole to the backrest while fellow French designer Phillippe Starck went with padlocks as a tribute to the city's Pont des Arts bridge and its famous "love locks".
