Carlisle, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/18/2017 -- Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, a celebrated leader in the world of dance education for children and young adults, stays strong, relevant and poised for the future with the addition of five new board members and dance program enhancements. When Founding Artistic Director Marcia Dale Weary opened Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet more than six decades ago it required tenacity, hard work and a vision.
With the addition of five new board members, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet continues to nurture and expand on its core values of integrity, diligence, excellence and inclusiveness that have brought the organization this far. Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet welcomes:
- Randolf H. Aires, a retired attorney, and U.S. Naval Reserve captain
- Edward Bidelspach, a retired community office manager for F&M Trust Co.
- Gregory Schroeder, a global merchandise director for children's products for Jordan Brand at Nike Inc.
- John P. Weidman, principal of Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz CPA & Business Advisors
- Susanna Xuexuan, former chief procurement officer at The Hershey Co.
Each individual brings the essential qualities of business acumen, arts advocacy, and community service experience needed to build a brighter future for Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet's students as well as the organization as a whole.
Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet has also seen a leap in enrollment in both its academic and summer programs, a major expansion to its studios in Carlisle, community programming, as well as a successful Male Scholarship Program thanks to Nicholas Ade, the organization's Chief Executive Officer. Ade came to Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in 2012 to serve as the school principal and was appointed CEO in 2015. Because of these successes, the Board has offered Ade a new five-year contract, with an option to extend two additional years. The organization's board president confirms that Ade's effective leadership skills are in direct alignment with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet's values and mission, creating the ultimate partnership for success.
Finally, due to a recent restructuring of the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Children's Division and a new division leader, enrollment has skyrocketed up nearly 65 percent in just one year. What's more, children continuing from introductory classes to primary classes continues to grow substantially. CEO of Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Nicholas Ade, commented, "Our Children's Division focuses on introducing our littlest dancers to the joy of ballet, and we are excited to provide parents living in the region with this unique opportunity for their children."
