Crowdfunding Campaign Launched to Save Eastbourne's Last Independent Baby Shop from Closure

The owner of Eastbourne's last independent baby shop turns to the public Crowdfunding world to save her business and safeguard her young employees’ jobs.

Eastbourne, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/06/2015 -- A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to help save three jobs that would be lost if Eastbourne's last independent baby shop were forced to close. At a time when people are struggling to find work, the owner of Roly Poly's Little People has turned to the Internet to seek financial help. As a last resort, the disabled owner turned to the website Crowdfunder to try to raise funds to keep the business trading and to save her employees from losing their jobs.

Roly Poly's Little People is an independent baby shop established in Eastbourne, UK two years ago. This beautiful shop is running out of funds because family illness and problems with their current location have negatively affected their resources and thrown them off track. Their Crowdfunder campaign has been set up to seek support from donors locally and all over the world, to help them raise above their target of £1000 to save their business and three jobs. The campaign must reach at least £1000 otherwise the business will not receive any of the donations pledged so far.

Currently the shop is proud to stock wooden and traditional toys, quality and affordable clothing and aims to become a favourite and fun place for families to visit. Their current stock consists mostly of locally supplied toys chosen for their educational merit, and organic clothing that supports fair trade.

Since the Eastbourne based business owner, who is at the core of the business, faced serious health problems after being injured in a car crash, arrears have mounted up and resources have been stretched to their limit. With the raised funds, this small business plans to improve their footfall by investing in extra advertising, to bring in some new stock lines and to replenish current stock to attract more customers and keep them. Generating more sales will allow the business enough turnover to continue trading and keep employing staff. They'd also like to bring a professional accountant on-board to help identify areas for making savings.

This crowdfunding campaign is open until 7pm on June 25th, 2015, offering some great awards to those who decide to support this cause and save the last independent baby shop in Eastbourne from closure. Donors can pledge an amount as small as £1 and will get their names or business name written on a thank you star in the shop window. Higher donations receive invites to a celebration party once funds are raised, or a surprise bundle of toys.
