Spokane, WA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/09/2013 -- Universal Funding Corporation, a factoring company, is a big supporter of the Exchange Club Crab Feed, an annual event that supports local charities that help fight child abuse in the Spokane community. This year is no exception.
Exchange America's Service Club, is a group working together to make communities better places to live through service based programs focusing on Americanism, community service, youth activities, and its national project, child abuse prevention.
The Downtown Spokane Exchange Club, chartered in 1948, provides a wonderful opportunity for networking and fellowship for service minded community members. The 47th Annual Holiday Crab Feed and Benefit Auction for Kids takes place on Saturday, December 7th at the Spokane Convention Center.
The net proceeds from this annual event provide funding for services offered by local child abuse prevention agencies including:
Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery
Support Care and Networking, SCAN
Children's Home Society of Washington
The 2012 auction netted over $51,000, which was distributed to the three agencies during April, Child Abuse Prevention Month. The last 20 years over $421,000 has been raised through the auction to fight child abuse in Spokane! Based on the amount that Universal Funding donates to the auction, they sponsored 10% of the net amount that was raised from the event.
This year four Universal employees will be attending the event. “We typically sponsor approximately $5,000.00 during the silent auction and then those gifts are given as prizes to our employees at our annual Christmas event,” acknowledges Monica Wozow, a principal and the Chair for Charitable Giving at Universal Funding. “This is the time of year where we reflect on our good fortune and give back to our community and employees.”
