Isabella Santos Foundation Donates Money from 2016 Fundraising Events to Various Charities

Waxhaw, NC -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/02/2017 -- After a year filled with hard work and fundraising events, the Isabella Santos Foundation has raised a great deal of money to donate to various children's charities and hospitals. In 2016, this children's cancer foundation donated over $541,000 to specific pediatric cancer and Neuroblastoma programs at the following organizations: Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Children's Oncology Group, NMTRC, Levine Children's Hospital, Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte, Make-A-Wish of Central and Western NC.

The Isabella Santos Foundation believes that a little can change a lot, and they have been an example of that mantra over the years. They have grown from fighting for a Neuroblastoma cure to also donating to other many programs and charities to help those children and families as well.

The 2016 donations from this Neuroblastoma foundation include: $202,000 for the SADA Drug Delivery Platform at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; $175,000 for Circulating Tumor DNA, Frontline MIBG Therapy and Project Every Child at the Children's Oncology Group; $100,000 for the DMFO Trial at NMTRC (Neuroblastoma and Medulloblastoma Translational Research Consortium); $20,000 (plus an additional $45,000 carry over from 2015) for Clinical Trial and Art for Life at Levine Children's Hospital; $21,000 to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte; and $16,500 to the Make-a-Wish of Central and Western NC.

The Isabella Santos Foundation was established through Isabella's parents in 2009 to raise awareness and research funds for Neuroblastoma. Over the last ten years, the organization has donated over $1.5 million to Neuroblastoma research and other children's charities that fight cancer. They look to continue raising money in 2017.
