City Union Mission Supported by Loretto Foundation and Lamar Hunt Jr.

The Loretto Foundation and its founder Lamar Hunt Jr. continue to support the City Union Mission of Kansas City, MO. The mission recently celebrated its 91st anniversary in service.

 

Kansas City, MO -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/21/2015 -- The City Union Mission of Kansas City, MO continues to receive the support of Lamar Hunt Jr. through the Loretto Foundation. The mission is currently celebrating its 91st year of service to the poor and homeless adults and children of Kansas City. Multiple fundraising event's recently took place to continue the services provided by the City Union Mission.

Bikers With A Mission held their 26th annual City Union Mission fundraising ride this past July. The fundraiser contributes specifically to the special needs of the City Union Mission by raising funds for items not usually covered in the mission's budget.

The City Union Mission's 8th annual Women Who've Change the Heart of the City luncheon event was held this April and honored Mary Kay McPhee, Barbara Friedmann, and Hilda Fuentes. More than 50 sponsors contributed to the mission for this event which honors exceptional women in the community.

These events and other fundraising efforts by the mission are combined with direct support from donations by individuals, businesses, churches, and other foundations and organizations. The mission receives no support from the government and relies exclusively on these donations to meet its yearly budget. The mission's budget covers the basics of food and shelter, as well as some medical treatment and various types of therapy for clients.
