LED System Helps Create a Realistic Aura Behind Television

A new LED system helps to enhance televisions visual effects making movie watching much more enjoyable and realistic.

Brussels, Belgium -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/24/2014 -- Zambilight is an LED based system designed to help enhance the end user's experience while watching television. The product is designed to create a light show which appears on the wall directly behind television. In order to help improve usability, as opposed to causing a distraction, the product produces lighting in a way that coincides with whatever it is that the user is watching. This all happens in real time with absolutely no delay. Essentially, the system helps to provide an illusion that makes the movie or television show appear to be more realistic or even slightly three dimensional.

" The Zambilight works by applying adhesive strips of LED lights to the back of television before use. The strips are premium quality, and can easily be reapplied to another television after each use. ", says a representative from the company

The Zambilight can be used to enhance televisions of any size, up to but not exceeding 60 inches. This portable LED lightshow works using the Raspberry Pi, a small credit card sized mini computer. The device comes with a Raspberry Pi, a Zambilight box with built in HDMI splitter, an instructional DVD, a power adapter and of course the lighting made up of high quality, multi-colored LEDs. According to the manufacturer, the entire setup process will only take between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on the size of the television.

A representative from the company was also quoted as saying, " The installation of Zambilight is very simple and takes only 5-10 minutes depending on screen size. The self-adhesive RGB LED strip is only 12mm wide, and is flexible and bendable. ".

While this Ambilight LED system is not yet ready for mass consumer consumption, the company had a very successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.com. Initially, they were looking to raise $500 in order to commence beta testing. While the initial goal was low, the company was able to raise well over $74,000.00. This was mainly due to the perks that they offered for anyone who chose to fund the project.

Though the crowdfunding campaign may have ended in the beginning of October, the creators of Zambilight are still giving away perks to individuals who are looking to contribute. There are still three perk packages available to the general public. These packages are being sold in the form of three separate perks, $60 for a single Zambilight kit, $100 for a pair of Zambilight kits and $450 for a re-seller pack of 10 Zambilight kits. According to their crowdsourcing page, all perks are scheduled to be shipped out at some point in March of 2015. More information about their project and how the perks can be purchased can be found directly on the company's Indiegogo campaign page right here.
