The average price in the category increased by 1% in current terms over the course of 2013, which resulted in stronger value growth in the category during the year. Further stagnation is expected in volume terms in the category 2014. This static volume growth is set to be very much in line with the static volume CAGR recorded in the category over the entire review period. This stagnant performance is the overall result of the balance achieved between positive growth in fish food and small mammal/reptile food and declining sales of bird food.
