Plastic Rainwater Tanks Can Help Counter Potential Water Abstraction Renewal Limitations

Peterborough, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/28/2014 -- As the Environment Agency Announces new renewal procedures for water abstraction, Peterborough-based Enduramaxx emphasises the importance of rainwater tanks to provide farmers with unregulated, free water resources.

A topic discussed a great deal in farming, water supplies and water restrictions were again discussed by Environment Secretary, Elizabeth Truss recently as she invited farmers from her own constituency of South West Norfolk to a forum to air their concerns over water licenses, water restrictions and other issues affecting farming in the region. 30 farmers attended who quizzed Truss on subjects ranging from EU subsidies, YB control and issues relating to water supplies for farming.

The Environment Agency assessments for the renewal procedures for water abstraction will be made to comply with the Water Framework Directive that sets out to protect and improve all aspects of the water environment. However, a concern amongst farmers is that replacement licenses will be based on usage at the time of issue and therefore remove any flexibility for times of water shortages.

About Eduramaxx
Enduramaxx provides a number of tank solutions to farmers across the UK including liquid fertiliser tanks, cone bottom tanks, molasses tanks and horizontal tanks. However, it is the company’s plastic water tanks that farmers should be looking towards to help counter any impending restrictions or limitations in water abstraction.

Enduramaxx rainwater tanks form part of a rainwater harvesting solution which channels rainwater run-off from farm roofs into dedicated rainwater tanks. Water is then stored within ribbed, single piece, rotationally-mouled and UV-stabilised polyethylene water tanks, meaning that rainwater is protected against accidents and the elements and kept at optimum condition until it is required.

As water continues to be a topic at the forefront of the farming community, farmers wishing to know more about rainwater harvesting and the array of rainwater tanks and plastic water tanks available to them should visit www.enduramaxx.co.uk for more information.
