hybridCore Homes Signs Agreement With Champion Home Builders

Startup company offers site built home designs with an innovative factory built core. With 87% of homes being built by traditional methods, hybridCore Homes and Champion Home Builders are set to tap into this market.

Santa Rosa, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/14/2011 -- It was announced that hybridCore Homes and Champion Home Builders have signed an agreement to begin marketing hybridCore Homes designs. These designs have been created with an innovative Core that is built in a factory with the rest of the home built by conventional methods at the home site. The Core consists of the complex portions of the home that include complete kitchens, baths and laundry areas as well as the heating system. Once the Core is placed on the foundation, construction crews build the balance of the home around it. “This method increases quality, cuts construction time in half, and creates meaningful cost savings at the same time”, stated Shaun Faber, Co-founder and managing partner of hybridCore Homes.

Champion is one of the largest home builders in North America with 27 homebuilding facilities. “Our independent analysis of hybridCore Homes designs and processes revealed many advantages that will improve the traditional home building method”, stated Tom Pernsteiner, Executive Vice President of US Operations for Champion.

“We want to introduce this forward-thinking method of home building in markets that currently support new homes, so our initial efforts will be in the Washington D.C. and North Dakota regional areas,” Pernsteiner said. Planning for demonstration homes in Maryland and one in the Williston area of North Dakota has already begun. “We want to have these two homes completed before the 2011 building season ends” acknowledged Faber.

“Our alliance with Champion will give us the ability to offer hybridCore Homes throughout the nation” stated Faber. “Our home designs include the construction plans and a simple Core placement manual. We have designed over 100 plans already and offer 9 exterior elevation choices too,” Faber said.

hybridCore Homes has also been recognized by the California Department of Housing and Community Development. Kim Strange, Deputy Director of HCD presented hybridCore Homes with an Innovation In Housing Technology Award during the inauguration of their first demonstration home in Santa Rosa. “Having industry leaders like hybridCore Homes jump out with innovative ideas like building the “wet core” in the factory and the remaining portions on site, as well as using water saving fixtures and energy saving materials will contribute to healthier living environments” stated Strange. “All of these things contribute to reducing our carbon footprint and preserving our natural resources” Strange concluded.

Statistics released by the US Census Bureau show that 87% of residential homes built in 2010 were by traditional construction methods (not manufactured homes or modular). "Our homes have been designed to target that traditional builder. The Cores are a component of a site built home with no stigma attached, so traditional home builders should readily accept this concept just as they do with engineered ceiling trusses", Faber concluded. hybridCore Homes is accepting interest inquiries.
