Seegrid Welcomes New VP of Engineering Mike Straub

Pittsburgh, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/01/2011 -- Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Seegrid Corp. (www.seegrid.com) brings robotic vision-guided technology to the material handling industry. Seegrid will be a significant part of MODEX 2012 in Atlanta, GA February 6 – 9th. Exhibiting at booth 3100, Seegrid is proud to participate in one the largest expositions for manufacturing, distribution and supply chain solutions in the Americas in 2012. The show is designed to offer supply chain efficiency solutions, learning opportunities and information by showcasing the products and services of exceptional companies, like Seegrid.

With more than thirty years of innovation and research by the leading robotic scientists, engineers, programmers and logistics practitioners worldwide, Seegrid’s exclusive Robotic Industrial Trucks are revolutionizing the movement of materials in manufacturing and distribution environments. Seegrid’s technology transforms industrial vehicles into un-manned, automated pallet trucks and tow tractors that operate without the need for wire, tape, laser or other costly automated guided vehicle (AGV) guidance systems. Seegrid offers solutions that optimize workflow processes by increasing productivity and reducing costs, creating economic and operational advantages.

Recently the company announced the hire of Seegrid Announces Mike Straub as VP of Engineering. Straub joins Seegrid from Westinghouse, where he was responsible for system and software design for reactor safety systems. Straub will provide leadership and strategic direction to Seegrid’s expanding portfolio of robotic industrial trucks, focusing on providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to customer needs with the growing family of Seegrid products. His experience and leadership will be valuable components as the company continues its successful growth in the Robotic Industrial Truck market.

Straub explained, “What drew me to Seegrid was the opportunity to work in a high-tech company with a unique technology application, at a point where the application is starting to grow.”

Prior to his position at Westinghouse, Straub held positions of increasing responsibility at Sony Electronics and had experience managing test engineering, including vision systems development, as well as television production.

David Heilman, Seegrid’s Chief Administrative Officer, said, “Mike Straub’s experience in building and leading cross-functional teams to achieve project goals is an important addition to our team. Seegrid continues to augment our management team with the very best talent to support the development efforts and meet the needs of customers.”

The Seegrid hiring expansion is a natural and necessary progression, especially with respect to the recent partnerships with Raymond Corp. and Linde Material Handling. These two leading industrial truck manufacturers worldwide have captured the top two market share positions in the industry. Seegrid has entered into a rapid growth period to meet the demands of its OEM partners and its ever-growing, material handling client base.
