Hans Moravec, Ph D, is the Chief Scientist and Co-Founder at Seegrid. He is a former Research Professor and Director of the Mobile Robot Lab at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. His academic work has been funded by numerous government agencies, including the Office of Naval Research, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Moravec is the author of two books, Mind Children: The Future of Robot and Human Intelligence and Robot: Mere Machine to Transcendent Mind, that explore the implications of evolving robot intelligence.

Moravec holds a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University, a Master of Science degree in computer science from University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Acadia University.
