Skip’s Garage is Quickly Becoming the Wal-Mart of Party Games

Skip’s Garage is capitalizing on the party game phenomenon known as beer pong by creating a business dedicated to addressing all the needs of its vast fan base and revolutionizing the way people can enjoy their favorite party activity.

South Windsor, CT -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/17/2009 -- Wet balls and drunken frat guys should never mix. However, when it comes to party games beer pong is king and Skip’s Garage provides enough tables and accessories for every one to enjoy this über popular pastime.

In November 2008, UConn graduate KJ Camera and his best friend Bill Bogner of K&W Solutions, LLC created Skip’s Garage based in Storrs, Connecticut. Skip’s Garage is an online store dedicated to meeting the needs of people passionate about beer pong, beirut, and other accessories devoted to partying.

After seeing the overwhelming success of many people with internet-based businesses in the last few years, they conducted some research and spent thousands of hours and personal savings toward creating a business they were passionate about. “I was unsuccessful in a few previous attempts to capitalize online, and it took a couple years of spending numerous hours working out the kinks before I finally figured it out,” according to Skips Garage co-founder KJ Camera.

Once their site was launched in January 2009, they did about $1500 in sales the first month which is unheard of for a new online store in this market, especially one with little quality search engine placement and practically no online ranking. Ever since, the business has expanded tremendously going from 10-20 hits a day to 200+ daily and seeing revenue of roughly $15,000 per month. With a conversion rate of 4.02% (unheard of for any new small business) they are making a big splash in a pool full of booze.

The Skip’s Garage team has traveled from Connecticut to Panama City Beach, Florida promoting its business. Most recently, on June 11-13 they attended and sponsored the Atlantic City Beer Pong Championship hosted by the World BeerPong Tour. Team Smashing Time—winners of the World Series of Beer Pong in Las Vegas in January 2009—walked away with $25,000 and ultimate bragging rights.

Skip’s Garage manages to increase their customer base exponentially, reach their target demographic through creative marketing, and beat the prices of all their competitors. If Camera and Bogner have done this in only seven months, imagine what they can do in a few years!
