The European Coaching Institute Launches International Coaching Register

 

Ashford, Kent -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/07/2009 -- The ECI, one of Europe’s leading accreditation organizations for coaches and coach-training providers, has announced the launch of its International Coaching Register. Mr. Gerard O’Donovan, the current CEO commented that the Register represented a crucial resource for individuals and organisations looking for the services of a coach.

In line with the Institute’s objective to get the profession of coaching acknowledge and regulated at national and international level, the International Coaching Register brings transparency to coaching. The Register will enable the public and organizations to feel safe and secure in the knowledge that the coaches listed are qualified, and their qualifications verified to the highest standards. The Institute is concerned that currently anyone can set up in business as a coach without any formal training. The Register aims to raise the profile of genuine coaching and protect the interests of clients and coaches alike.

In the current economic climate, companies are looking to support their staff reach their maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Investment in coaching enables employees to become empowered within their role improving on a wide range of skills including time management, delegation and team building. Companies now have a valuable resource the ICR knowing the coaches they employ are of the highest standard and excellent value for money.

Qualified coaches are encouraged to register. By registering, coaches greatly enhance their profile and clients will feel confident in employing their services. Coaches can apply to join by selecting the International Coaching Register option on the ECI’s website. Once approved, their name is added to the Register enabling coaches to use the ICR logo on their stationery and website as a mark of excellence.

The International Coaching Register is being submitted to governments and police authorities as a benchmark for countries setting accreditation standards.
