Lativian Team Launches Indiegogo to Bring Back Paper Dolls

Claudia’s Paper Dolls Are Creative Toy with Historical Significance

Riga, Latvia -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/09/2014 -- The backstory for this campaign begins in 1992. A young Latvian girl named Claudia had a grandmother who worked at Riga Fashion House. Claudia's grandmother was involved in the process of creating fashionable clothing sold throughout the Soviet Union. And when she wasn't at the fashion house, her hobby was drawing paper dolls to give to her daughter. At this time in Latvia, beautiful dolls could be seen only on TV. Even Barbie was special and not available to everyone.

The daughter loved the paper dolls which were bright and interesting playmates. However, as time passed she grew up having more and more new games and activities, while the dolls were left behind in a drawer.

Fast forward through time to today. Claudia's grandmother had saved all the dolls as if she knew that one day she would have a whimsical and inquisitive granddaughter named Claudia, who would open the drawer accidentally and fill the dolls with entirely new energy. Restored and created for other children, the paper dolls present unique hand drawn and colored paper dolls based on the originals and their clothing drawn in 1992.

Angel investors helping fund the Claudia's Paper Doll campaign to the next level will be eligible for perks such as thank yous and a set of Claudia's paper dolls.

The team also understands not everyone may be able to give money to help Claudia's Paper Doll project, so they ask that those who cannot give monetarily help by spreading the word about Claudia's Paper Doll online through social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr or record a video challenge for Vine, Facebook or Instagram to invite friends to give to or share this IndieGoGo fundraiser. Include #ClaudiasPaperDolls in all posts.
