Memex Automation Ethernet Connectivity Improves Machine Tool Productivity IMTS 2010 Show Special

Burlington, Ontario -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/16/2010 -- In today’s manufacturing world with individual machines being islands of automation, they very often do not have ready and quick access to the manufacturing programs needed to run the machines. This is very often caused because of lack of network connections of the machines to the powerful CAD/CAM servers that store the programs. Additionally, for management to receive information about how the machine is performing, such as OEE metrics is also affected by lack of network connectivity.

Manufacturing shop floor information will take a much-needed step forward in the area of network connectivity at the International Manufacturing Technology Show IMTS 2010 being held September 13-18, 2010. Memex Automation will showcase, and offer a “show special”, their Ethernet Connectivity tools that help make manufacturers improve their machine tool productivity, thereby allowing machines to operate more efficiently.

Memex’s Ethernet Connectivity tools, Mx1053, is used by many manufacturers in North America, including the largest companies in their sectors. The tools provide for an Ethernet to serial Bridge to connect directly to any machine, and can be utilized with their own software tools or those offered by Memex. This approach is much more robust and shop hardened than a PC located at the machine, and is easily one quarter of the cost.

By assisting manufacturers to be more productive on a day by day operating basis, Memex is assisting the North American manufacturing sector to be more competitive on a global basis.
