Singapore -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/23/2014 -- Armed with a mission to unlock the potential of individuals with learning differences, the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) launched a Specialized Educational Services (SES) division in 2014.
DAS is one of the most well-known organizations in the region that addresses and manages dyslexia. They provide high-quality, professional, innovative and client-focused solutions to create and sustain services for the dyslexic community in Singapore and the region. They aim to provide an assessment service for individuals at risk of having dyslexia and/or specific learning differences. They also aim to provide educational programme and other support services for individuals with dyslexia and/or specific learning differences.
On the other hand, SES Singapore is also one of the most recognizable names in organizations helping children and adults with learning difficulties. SES Singapore is a division of DAS which aims to uncover the true strengths of individuals with learning differences and empowering them with the necessary skills and strategies to succeed.
Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty that makes it very difficult for people to read, write and/or spell. It has nothing to do with the person's intelligence. Often, weaknesses may be seen in areas such as of language development, memory and sequencing.
As a division of DAS, SES provides quality service focusing on the learning needs of the individual and offering a comprehensive and holistic range of therapy and educational programs to help children manage and overcome dyslexia. These include speech therapy, language therapy and play therapy. They also offer programs that help in skills often compromised by dyslexia, like math, English and reading.
By extending its range of services through SES, DAS avails more services delivered by highly-qualified and specially-trained professionals to help individuals with special learning needs.
