Former Pakistan Cricket Captain Welcomes the Birth of His Baby Daughter

Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram has become the father of a daughter after his wife Shaniera gave birth to a baby girl. It was confirmed Shaniera gave birth on Saturday in a Melbourne hospital.

Wasim Akram who married Australian born Shaniera on August 12th, 2013 in a private ceremony, shared the news in September that he and his wife were expecting their first child together. Fans immediately sent the Pakistan cricket legend their congratulations.

Wasim Akram was previously married to Huma, whom he married in 1995 but sadly died in 2009 due to multiple organ failure. The marriage produced two sons, Taimur Akram and Akber. Akram told Hindustan Times earlier in December that he was excited to become a father again.

After receiving many suggestions from his followers and fans, he was pleased to share the news of his baby daughter name. Arsalan Hyder Shah revealed on Facebook that the new addition to the Akram family will be called 'Aiyla Akram'.

Wasim Akram would like to thank his fans for all their well wishes and would like to share with them that the baby is healthy and his wife, Shaniera is doing just fine after the birth.
