Sleep Dentist Network for Dental Providers Who Provide Sleep Apnea Oral Appliances and Snoring Devices by American Sleep Association

 

Lititz, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/01/2015 -- American Sleep Association (ASA) has announced the launch of the ASA Sleep Dentist Network. The objective of the Sleep Dentist Network is to provide easy access for sleep apnea and snoring patients to treatment options including oral appliances and snoring dental devices. Future goals include direct referral lead system and oral appliance discounts.

There is currently no cost for dentists to join the ASA Sleep Dentist Network.

The goal of the new ASA network is to bring additional benefits and patient referrals to sleep dentists. Planned discounts on services and products, including sleep apnea oral appliances, will bring increased value and savings to dental practices.

Dentists who join should be familiar with at least one of the following brands of sleep apnea oral appliances:

ASA offers direct access to patients who desire sleep apnea oral appliance and dental device and snoring mouthpieces. ASA also offers CPAP, CPAP supplies.

Patients are connected to a network of affiliated professionals who can offer treatment.

Sleep apnea oral appliances work by moving the lower jaw forward relative to the upper jaw. This maximizes the air passage space reducing or eliminating sleep apnea and snoring.

It is estimated that 50% of adults snores. Approximately 4 – 20% of adults have some degree of sleep disordered breathing which includes obstructive sleep apnea. Most are undiagnosed. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder which affects breathing during sleep. Untreated obstructive sleep apnea is associated with an increased risk of stroke, heart attack, dangerous heart arrhythmias, and mood disorders.
