West Haven, CT -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/14/2010 -- Lights, Cameras, Action!! IMANI Magazine/Fashion Models Institute is planning the Official Connecticut Fashionweek which is set to take place Spring/Summer 2011. The event will be held in New Haven, CT with smaller shows opening at its founders base in the Fashion Showroom clothing store.

Focus/Mission
CT Fashion Week will feature professional and aspiring fashion designers and other industry members showcasing their work and services to public and private sponsors. Competitions will be held for the first portion of the event tapering off with a Grand Fashion Finale as the last show.

A ceremony will kick off the event and a fashion finale will taper the event-
Where local, national and international designers, models and celebrities will be featured in a high-energy showcase.

A designer competition will begin the fashion portion of the show followed by several smaller shows (including a children’s show) with an awards ceremony and cocktail.

Building Relationships….
We will establish and build relationships with local and national media and businesses. There are unlimited resources of promotional opportunities for exhibitors to network as part of the Networking Guru.

Learning
The ultimate goal of the event is to create an exciting learning environment and safe forum for
attendees of all levels to gain information about their industry. Attendees can pinpoint their career strategies, get a head start on their portfolio, meet industry professionals, and expose themselves to powerful networking opportunities. Designers can get a hand in broadening their retail base to buyers, clothiers and wholesale and retail networks.
