Spread Betting News: US Stock Futures Respond to Intel's Revenue Rally

Greater London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/03/2011 -- US stocks look set to open higher after the publication of the financial results of Intel.

It has been reported that US futures have advanced as investors look to the revenue boost experienced by the chipmaker.

Intel revealed that for the first quarter of 2011, its non-GAAP revenue increased by 25 per cent on the same three-month period last year to reach $12.9 billion (£7.9 billion).

This represents a 12 per cent rise from the fourth quarter of 2010. Operating income also soared by 25 per cent between the two corresponding quarters of this year and last to hit $4.3 billion.

Non-GAAP earnings per share lifted by five per cent on the quarter - and 37 per cent when compared to the same three-month period last year.

Reuters reported that as of 09:47 BST, the Standard and Poor's 500 Index futures were up by 0.8 per cent, with the same percentage lift experienced by Nasdaq 100 futures.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures, meanwhile, increased by 0.5 per cent.
