Royal Oak, MI -- (SBWIRE) --06/07/2011 -- The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic will soon be the newest compact car in Chevy’s lineup. The small car has an aggressive and youthful design with the classic Chevy front end graphics. Detroit Chevrolet fans will meet the 2012 Sonic later this year.

The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic will be available in a hatchback and sedan body style. The Sonic will be powered by an Ecotec 1.4-liter turbo engine that produces 138 horsepower, which is 18 more than the Ford Fiesta. Customers will also have the option of an Ecotec 1.8-liter engine paired with five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Both options will feature highly competitive fuel efficiency.

The attention to detail on the 2012 Sonic is strong thanks to the chrome grille surrounds and matte black honeycomb grille inserts.

Detroit Chevrolet fans will also be able to stay connected in the Chevy Sonic. The small car will have a slew of technology options including OnStar with six months of Turn-by-Turn navigation, XM Satellite Radio, USB and Bluetooth functionality and MyChevrolet mobile application with OnStar MyLink vehicle connectivity.
