Modesto, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/18/2016 -- Ethan Sanchez and Anthony Perry Hunt, the highly experienced duo behind Visual Vérité Films, a film production company responsible for 9 short films and music video recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for their upcoming detective series"Blackthorne". The aim of the campaign is to raise funds for an episodic web series that tells a riveting story of an unstable detective as he investigates a mysterious chain of murders in his small town. Ethan and Anthony at Visual Vérité Films need funding to bring this upcoming project to life and have therefore launched a crowdfunding campaign on KickStarter with a funding goal of at least $5,000 USD to be raised by Wed, Apr 13, 2016.
The team at Visual Vérité Films initially planned the detective thriller to be a short film, however the progression of the story steered the team into a whole new direction – episodic web series, according to the company the complexity of the plot of Blackthorne would require several seasons to be told in a manner which Ethan and Anthony believe would do it justice. They have planned 12 episodes for the first season.
Visual Vérité Films spokesperson said: "Blackthorne is a dark, character-driven, thriller that explores the consequences of extreme actions we are sometimes forced to take. Blackthorne is a murder mystery with multiple layers which reveal a complex and riveting story. Blackthorne originated as a short film script. After further examining the short film, it was very quickly discovered that we needed a much longer format to tell the story of Blackthorne. With the rise of popularity of the episodic web series format, we felt that Blackthorne would perfectly fit into that format and that we would have the creative freedom to create the universe of the show over a longer period of time, and over multiple seasons."
The series will follow the story of Daniel Blackthorne, who is going through the most difficult phase in his life after losing all that he holds dear. Soon, he and his partner find themselves in the thick of a murder investigation surrounding the serial killings of married couples in their small town. The production company is planning to release the series on Video on Demand platforms.
The Kickstarter crowdfunding project offers various pledge options to suit different preferences. A variety of different rewards and perks are also being offered to prize the generosity of those who support the campaign and the project through their monetary contributions. The team requires funding to cover various production costs.
