YMC America, Inc. Unveils New Analytical Chromatography Column: YMC-SEC MAB

Allentown, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/08/2018 -- YMC America, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of their newest size exclusion chromatography column, YMC-SEC MAB. This silica-based SEC column uses a 3µm, 250Å dihydroxypropyl stationary phase which is bonded to a silica gel base, and is specifically designed to be used for antibody separations.

Utilizing a 250Å pore size, this material is well-suited for separating aggregates from monomer, but is also extremely effective at resolving lower molecular weight fragments. Offering high resolution and excellent peak shape over a broad range of molecular weight (10kDa to 700kDa), this material has been shown to work well for both characterization and quality control of antibody drugs. Additionally, YMC-SEC MAB provides excellent lot-to-lot reproducibility, making it an excellent choice for quality control methods.

This new SEC material exhibits low non-specific adsorption and has the ability to significantly improve accuracy on sizing analyses of monoclonal antibodies and other large proteins, including Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs). When running sizing separations of ADCs, it is recommended to add organic solvent (typically ~15%) to the mobile phase in order to suppress any hydrophobic interactions from the higher drug-to-antibody (DAR) species and obtain optimal results.
