Palmer Trinity School Welcomes Visit from Nominees for Bishop of Local Diocese

LogoOn Monday, January 11, the nominees for bishop coadjutor of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida made a special visit to Palmer Trinity School (PTS). The nominees, accompanied by their spouses, were: The Reverend Michael J. Battle, Ph.D., The Very Reverend Dr. DeDe Duncan-Probe, The Very Reverend Peter Eaton, The Reverend John C. N. Hall, D.Min., The Reverend Dr. Allen F. Robinson, and The Reverend Canon Dr. Martin William Zlatic. All enjoyed engaging in conversation with eleventh and twelfth grade students enrolled in Chaplain Mary Ellen Cassini's class, Christianity in the World.

Palmer Trinity School Students Present at 2015 Student Artist Showcase

LogoOn Tuesday, January 13, Palmer Trinity School art students were recognized for their inclusion in the annual juried art competition, Beaux Arts Student Artist Showcase, at the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami. Participating students in grades 6 to 12 from across Miami-Dade County were given the opportunity to present their work to the art community in a museum setting.

Palmer Trinity School Teams Up with Teach for America to Mentor Students

LogoPalmer Trinity School students recently teamed up with Teach For America, to help mentor 3rd and 4th grade students at Holmes Elementary in Liberty City, FL. The program encourages local students to spend two Saturdays a month working with younger students who need help improving their reading and writing skills. Each Palmer Trinity Student is teamed up with a "buddy" and twice a month they meet to read a book and write a report about what they read. After the reading exercise, students engage in a fun recreational activity (last Saturday they baked holiday cookies together).

Palmer Trinity School Hosts Annual PTS Gives Back Event

LogoOn Saturday, November 15, Palmer Trinity School hosted its annual PTS Gives Back event — a day of service to the community. More than 300 students, families, staff and faculty, alumni and alumni families participated in a celebration of the school's traditional values of social responsibility, community, fellowship and learning. Individuals took part in one of thirteen PTS Gives Back projects located both on-campus and off-campus.

Palmer Trinity School Honors American War Veterans

LogoIn commemoration of Veterans Day, Palmer Trinity School welcomed special guest speaker and Afghanistan War Veteran Cedric King, United States Army First Class. Mr. King told the harrowing story of how he lost both legs to an explosive device while on duty. Despite a tough recovery, King worked extremely hard to return to normal and even completed the Boston Marathon with two prosthetic legs. He stressed to the PTS Community the importance of appreciating the gift of life.

Palmer Trinity School Varsity Golf Team Takes District Title

LogoThe Palmer Trinity Varsity Golf team made school history as the very first Palmer Trinity School Golf team ever to win the District 24-1A Title. The Falcons soared all day following the lead of their tremendous captain, Senior Jackson Fox. Jackson closed out his high school district-level career by posting birdies on three of his final four holes to earn his second consecutive Individual District Title with a school record round of 1-under par 70!

Palmer Trinity School Inducts 26 New Members Into Tri-M Music Honor Society

LogoPalmer Trinity School inducted 26 new members into the Tri-M Music Honor Society. In addition, 22 continuing members were also recognized. These music students were carefully selected on the basis of scholarship, character, leadership, and service and will work toward promoting music at school and within the community.
