In 2013, however, body wash/shower gel recorded the best performance, achieving 21% growth, seventeen percentage points higher than in the previous year, reaching UYU20 million. On the other hand, bar soap only increased by 10% indicating a change in Uruguayan preferences. The second fastest growing category was liquid soap, which rose by 12% followed by intimate wipes and talcum powder.

Colgate-Palmolive continues to lead in bath and shower with a 43% value share in 2013, decreasing two percentage points during the year.
