Doylestown, PA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/18/2014 --Bored at work? These workers sure aren’t. Introducing the 12 most dangerous jobs in America in 2014.

1. Fishermen
Take to the wide open seas and enjoy fresh air. If it can be enjoyed it for long that is. For every 100,000 fishermen, 111 die at sea.

2. Logging workers
As a logging worker, the place of employment is the forest, cutting down trees. A job with considerable dangers. As if handling a chainsaw isn’t enough, there’s the possibility of being crushed by a tree. For every 100,000 worker there are 86 fatalities.

3. Aircraft pilot
Flying might be safer than driving, but in 2007, 87 pilots lost lives on the job. Out of 100,000 pilots, 70 never came back.

4. Structural workers
Bridges, office towers, condominiums and other buildings are erected by iron and steel structural workers who work high above the ground. Out of 100,000, 45 workers fell to death.

5. Farmers
Think that being a farmer doesn’t hold any dangers? It sure does. Farmers live and work in the same place and are often tested to the limit. 39 farmers out of 100,000 died of heart attacks, suicide, machinery and livestock accidents.

6. Roofers
A roofer’s job is not to be underestimated either. Working high off the ground, slips and falls still resulted in 29 people out of 100,000 who never got up.

7. Power line installers
Even though electrical power line installers and repair staff observes all safety regulations, accidents do happen. For 29 out of 100,000 electricians such accidents were fatal.

8. Truck drivers
28 out of 100,000 truck drivers die every year due to accidents on the road. An unsafe load, weather conditions and exhaustion being the main causes.

9. Window washers
Being a window washer is not for the faint of heart. These men and women dangle from the roof of a high rise building high above street level. Despite a harness and safety regulations 25 washers out of 100,000 fell to the ground.

10. Garbage collectors
Collecting trash cans and emptying them in the garbage truck might seem like a safe job but apparently it isn’t. 22 out of 100,000 workers die every year.

11. Police officer
Joining the police force might seem like a dangerous job but isn't really. Although not without danger, only 21 officers out of 100,000 die in the line of duty.

12. Fire fighters
Whether it’s a house or a multi-floor building, fire fighters risk their lives every time there is an emergency. Despite excellent protection, no less than 19 firemen out of 100,000 die due to fire or smoke inhalation.
