American Holistic Nurses Association Hosts Valerie Cooksley Workshop on Medicinal Baths at Annual Conference

Topeka, KS -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/09/2014 --The American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) will be hosting a presentation entitled Aroma-Balneotherapeutics: Aromatic Medicinal Bath Therapies,” on Sunday June 8, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at its 34th annual conference in Portland, Oregon.

The educational workshop and lecture is aimed at teaching a comprehensive and clinical perspective on the theme of medicinal baths. The presentation will focus on the evolution of hydrotherapy and the innovative ways water can be combined with herbs, seaweed, minerals, essential oils and flower essences to imprint energy and can be incorporated with essential oils in a bath for therapeutic purposes. Participants will prepare two medicinal baths during the educational session.

The workshop speaker for the event is the esteemed author and internationally certified clinical aromatherapist Valerie Cooksley , RN, OCN, FAAIM.

Ms. Cooksley has authored eight books on the subject of aromatherapy and natural healing and has been featured in numerous natural health publications. As part of her decades of holistic healthcare experience, Ms. Cooksley has instructed for both the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society. She is also certified in emergency response and triage in catastrophic disasters in her role as a FEMA Community Emergency Response Team Member for the greater Houston area.

Cooksley’s half-day presentation will be held immediately after the formal ending of the international conference workshop being held at the Portland (OR) Marriott Downtown Waterford hotel.

Attendees will earn 3.5 contact nursing education hours at a price of $140.00. This AHNA workshop is offered AHNA’s Education Provider Committee is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Credentialing Center’s COA.
