Zoo Atlanta Kicks off 2019 with Three New Resident Crowd Pleasers from Apple Mountain Alpacas

LogoPermanently setting up shop at the Orkin Children's Zoo in Zoo Atlanta, three superstar Huacaya breed alpacas have new digs. Purchased just in time for Christmas from the north Georgia alpaca farm Apple Mountain Alpacas, Tuscany, Warrior, and Smurf will continue their expert job of mesmerizing visitors with their characteristic charm. Formerly a part of a temporary exhibit launched in May of 2018, at last tally, the trio has racked up nearly half a million new fans since their arrival. Not bad for a little stint in the big city.

Apple Mountain Alpacas Set to Share Their Herd with the Atlanta Zoo Through the Holidays

LogoThanks to Apple Mountain Alpacas, the Atlanta Zoo is about to get three new "animal neighbors" for their Orkin Children's Zoo central habitat. Making the trip the week of May 7th, Tuscany, Warrior, and Smurf will both delight and educate crowds all the way through the holidays. The all-male trio's new home will sit adjacent to the location's petting zoo and create a buzz about the Huacaya breed for visitors of all ages. Related to llamas, the docile animals are South American domesticated members of the camelid family. Now, they're ready to be a show stopper.
