New Report Available: Sugar Confectionery in Ecuador
Sales of sugar confectionery tend to be impulse purchases, which makes it very vulnerable to changes in prices or in income. This is a drawback that has affected the category several times. Most recently, in 2012, the harsh climate affected consumer purchasing power (mainly among lower income groups), as many rural workers were unable to find consistent work, forcing such consumers to cut down on impulse and indulgence purchases.
