In 2013, the category is expected to have value sales of GTQ453 million, with current value growth of 11%. Chilled processed meat is currently the only category with substantial sales. Other chilled processed products are not popular in Guatemala, given that fresh products like fruit are available year-round and unit prices are lower if bought fresh, rather than cut and chilled.
