Health and beauty specialist retailers witnessed slower current value growth in 2013 than in 2012 due to the slow economic conditions. As Mainland Chinese tourists accounted for the bulk of sales, the weak economic conditions in China saw them reduce their basket of purchases in 2013. However, strong domestic demand still managed to offset this impact and sustain the channel's positive performance that year.
