CSLT-Billing had simple gravity equipment with no programmable logic control (PLC) that was causing problems in their process. Driven by an expanding operation, the company sought a new solution. They needed 13 million bills to move each month between floors, and they needed the lines from 10 machines to merge with no jams or crashes. CSLT-Billing, the bill print and distribution operation for Verizon Telecom was looking for a new conveyor system solution. Hytrol Conveyor Co., Inc. and Advanced Equipment Company, integration partner, was able to provide a system that addressed the pain points. "The Hytrol E24™ system was the best solution for Verizon because the system is running inside the building where employees are working close by; it is both quieter and safer to work around than other systems,” commented Ivar Lonon, Systems Engineer and Project Manager with Advanced Equipment Company (AEC.)

Blasting down hills and pulling off huge slides are the moments that long boarders and snowboarders live for. It’s a rush and a feeling of freedom that you can’t experience any other way. But what if these experiences weren’t bound to a hill? A new concept board called the LEIF gives longboarders and snowboarders the freedom to carve and slide on flat city streets as if riding down a mountain.

The most important trend impacting full-service restaurants in 2013 was the number of closures of independent outlets. This was a continuation of the trend already seen in 2012, as many operators started to quit the business; no longer finding it profitable due to the ongoing crisis affecting Italy. The depressing economic situation, which more and more Italians were experiencing first-hand, led consumers to be very careful of their out-of-home and non-essential expenses. Although the number of closures was less dramatic if compared with 2012, 2013 still saw 3,170 fewer outlets overall across the nation, with most closures happening in city centres.

Austria has a highly developed payment infrastructure, providing substantial growth opportunities for the cards and payments industry. The country's highly developed and well regulated financial system provided scope for the development of electronic payment systems. As consumers became aware of the benefits of electronic payments, the use of cash has registered a review-period (2009-2013) downturn. With anticipated economic recovery, an increase in disposable incomes and employment levels, as well as the proliferation of new technologies in the payment cards market, this is anticipated to provide further impetus to electronic payments over the forecast period (2014-2018), thus benefitting the cards and payments industry.

For the second consecutive year, cider sales posted a decline in total volume (-5%) which represents a four percentage point drop from the CAGR of the review period. Historically, total volume sales of cider (perry sales in Uruguay remained negligible) alternated between positive and negative growth rates, in all cases reflecting the variations in domestic production. 2012 with a sharp volume decline of -11% followed by the poor performance of 2013 which marked the end of consumption pegged to domestic production and shows consumers switching to other types of more expensive alcoholic drinks as the collective purchasing power keeps growing in real terms.

Consumer behaviour is experiencing a rapid modernisation. The Romanian pet food market is a very young one, the product itself being unknown 10-15 years ago in the country. If, at the beginning of the 1990s, pet owners were feeding their animals with the same food they ate, the evolution of the dog and cat food market is demonstrating an increasing preference for specialised pet food products. Consumption was stimulated after Romania joined the EU, the moment when prices for pet food dropped considerably, as a result of the removal of the 18.2% import duties.

While we hold a positive view on the South African agricultural sector and see particular growth in the livestock sector, we are less optimistic on sustained growth in cereals production. This will be due to slower yield growth owing to lower input usage from a weaker currency, and limited developed in GMO seed plantings. The sugar sector also presents interesting growth opportunities, mainly thanks to renewed investment and improved technologies. The country's livestock sector will see greater growth over the coming years owing to lower grain prices and increasing demand from a more affluent population. We believe the country's main agribusiness companies, AFGRI , Rainbow Chicken and Astral Foods , will reap the benefit from lower global grain prices and therefore lower feed prices.

There remains some growth potential Bahrain's mobile market, but the key opportunities in the country's telecoms market now lie in the advanced mobile and wireline data markets. This is supported by strong consumer appetite for data services as well as operators' heavy investments in 4G LTE and 100Mbps fibre networks. As well as encouraging continued take-up of 3G and 4G, telecoms operators are also increasing their focus on improving subscriber mixes and bolstering their converged and value-added services portfolios in order to offset declining voice revenues and the impact of market saturation. We have a positive growth outlook for these segments, supported by healthy GDP and private consumption growth forecasts to 2018. However we note that strong competition in the mobile and wireline sectors will continue to weigh on the pace of revenue growth.

Despite the steady growth of the air travel industry in Romania, the air travel load at Romanian airports is still one third that of the major airports of countries in the EU. As much as 76% of all air travel volume is concentrated in the Henri Coanda Airport Bucharest (Otopeni). Large-scale investment projects have been recently undertaken at all major airports of the country including the Henri Coanda Airport; the second airport of Bucharest, the Baneasa Airport; and the regional airports like Cluj Napoca Airport, Targu Mures Airport, Oradea Airport and Suceava Airport. The largest increase in travel volume was recorded at the Targu Mures Airport since Wizzair, the top low-cost airline, has transferred some of its routes from Cluj Napoca and Timisoara airports.

Provisional estimates show that 2014 will witness a continuation of the trends observed in other pet food during 2013. The category will still decline in sales due to falling demand for bird food and fish food. Polish consumers will be less likely to choose birds and fish as pets as a result of changing fashions and rising rates of allergies related to birds or fish food. At the same time, some consumers, especially price-conscious ones, will opt to buy cheaper products and decide to cut their spending on complementary products.
