APTE Inc. Files Lawsuit Against Sakar International

A law suit was filed today on behalf of APTE Inc. against Sakar International of Edison, N.J. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. APTE has brought this action in response to Sakar’s alleged willful contract violations and to protect and prevent the destruction of the goodwill and consumer recognition APTE has worked hard to secure over the last seventeen years in the education publishing industry. Also named in the suit were Radio Shack Corporation, CompUSA, Target Corporation, distributors and retailers of the products at issue.

John Marshall Law School Professor Appointed to Chair Housing Committee in Illinois Village

Professor Ralph Ruebner of The John Marshall Law School recently was appointed chair of the Housing Committee of the Village of Skokie Human Relations Commission in Illinois, which is charged with enforcing the village fair housing ordinance. This committee has the power to mediate and adjudicate discrimination complaints. Under his leadership, the Village of Skokie Board of Trustees amended the ordinance to prohibit discrimination based on the source of lawful income.
